Macrofibres look very much like steel fibres. Unlike steel fibres, however, they possess the advantage that they do not rust. All the same, they are not heat-resistant and the material itself tends to display creep behaviour.

For these reasons, KrampeFibrin polypropylene fibres are normally used for temporary reinforcement in applications with little temperature fluctuation or where there is a risk of corrosion, such as in foundations in the ocean or concrete floors for agriculture.
