Further information
about the project
Starting in the summer of 2019, the 1,230 m long southern bypass will alleviate through traffic in the town centre of Küssnacht. ARGE Küssnacht Süd (AKS), comprised of ANLIKER AG as well as tunnel builders Baresel and Heitkamp, was commissioned in 2015 with the contract to develop the main lots 1 to 4.
In accordance with the new Austrian tunnel construction method, the tunnel was pushed through the tephra with a top heading and side wall. The steel fibre concrete is used to temporarily shore up the heading face.
